Norrøna Falketind Gore-Tex

I can simply start this review by saying, I’m highly biased. This has been my favorite companion for the last 5 years. The Falketind jacket I wear is a jacket I bought second hand in 2017, then it was already approximately 2 years old!

The jacket is extremely light, weighing in at a shocking 410 grams. It’s made from GORE-TEX® C-KNIT™.

The fabric is a lot my agile than other jackets, which makes it perfect to roll up or compress into your bag.
It’s waterproof to about 28.000mm with extremely high breathability, so you don’t feel clammy after wearing the jacket for a whole day in the rain.

I would say the greatest strength of this jacket is also the greatest weakness, it’s light, and it’s less durable than other jackets you will have in your closet.

The cons of this jacket is as many as the pro’s! So let’s dig into it!

My biggest gripe with this jacket is the internal chest pocket, It’s so small that not even my dignity can fit in it.
The hood adjustments are on the back of the hood, making it a bit difficult to adjust when wearing a big backpack.
The jacket is shorter than for example Trollveggen, so if you carry a backpack in excess of 50L in rainy conditions. EXPECT A WET BUTT!

As a final note, my overall impression of this jacket is great, on a scale of 1-10, I believe this jacket is a solid 9. It’s just a few minor things that I personally dislike about this jacket.

Fjørå equaliser lightweight T-Shirt

I have to say, I used to scoff at the idea of spending more than 30 euros for a T-shirt, so the real question becomes, is this 78 euro t-shirt really worth it?

So let’s start going through what I enjoy of this T-shirt.

It’s among the lightest T-shirts I have ever owned, weighing in at around 100 grams!
That’s practically the same weight as a cup of noodles, #FavouriteMeal.

It’s eco-friendly, made from +50% recycled synthetic fibers along with their trademarked equaliser material. * They haven’t shared this recipe with me!

The main feature that I love about this T-shirt is its breathability, which makes it ideal for activities where you would break a sweat, be it climbing, running, skiing, or mountain biking.

When you are out hiking, you stop for your lunch on a sunny day, you wash your Fjørå T-shirt in a stream, hang it on your backpack and you grab a new one from your pack. Within 2 hours the first T-shirt is already dry and ready for use.

What are the cons?

Cost, running at around 70+ euros without discounts makes it a quite pricey affair for a T-shirt.

Base layer, during colder days of the year when you usually wear a base layer. This T-shirt acts as a semi-base layer itself, but it also hugs the body.
Making it difficult to find base layer’s that fit with the T-shirt.

Color selection, at any given time there are around 9 different colors over on the Fjørå equaliser and Falketind equaliser.
Yet there is no full black or full white of the T-shirt or any single color options.
It’s a small gripe and truly a first-world problem that I might be able to survive.
